In its efforts of helping local communities, Certstaffix Training has made contributions to different organizations that make difference. For our sixth “Certstaffix Training’s Charitable Partners” blog post, we would like to introduce you to the “Social Tees Animal Rescue.”

What is the mission/goal of your organization?

Social Tees Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to finding responsible, loving forever homes for abandoned animals in NYC and beyond.

What audience or population does your organization service or benefit?

We rescue animals at risk of euthanasia in New York, Tennessee, Los Angeles, and occasionally other locations, and we adopt out to families primarily in the tri-state area and southern California.

What is the history of your organization? How did it start?

Social Tees Animal Rescue started as a tee shirt company over 25 years ago — the company sold tee shirts featuring messages to raise awareness about social issues (race, poverty, education), thus our unusual name for an animal rescue. Over the years, the founder transitioned it into an Animal Rescue, and it’s grown from there.

What is a recent project or work that you are excited about?

We recently hosted our first west coast adoption event in Los Angeles! We are working with some wonderful, well-known companies supportive of animal rescue (like Tarte Cosmetics, Outdoor Voices, Found My Animal) to expand our network in the LA area so we can rescue more dogs and hopefully adopt more out in that area.

How can people help your organization the most? What is your biggest need currently?

We are most in need of volunteers who can make serious commitments to the organization (once a week in person/on-site or daily digital work remotely), and we are also most in need of financial donations — we have very high vet and rent bills, and donations to our veterinary fund enable us to rescue more animals in need of extra vet care like special surgeries or senior exams and care.

What is your organization’s website or the best way to contact?
