Excel training courses are a smart step towards improving a person’s working knowledge of the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program. Excel is one of the most common spreadsheet applications and is a requirement or recommendation for many job positions. Whether you choose to take an Excel class online from a live instructor or to have an instructor come to your business to teach a group of students, it will improve the students’ efficiency and comfort with the system.

Microsoft Excel training is available online through Certified Staffing Solutions. There are multiple Excel classes suited to different skill levels, so students who are new to the program can learn the basics and students who already have some knowledge but wish to learn more complex tasks can take an intermediate or advanced level Excel course. The classes can be for Excel 2007, 2010, or 2013.

There are two types of classes people can choose from depending on if they are an individual or from a company. In the online Excel training, an instructor guides the group of students through a variety of real world scenarios that they will encounter. They can be taken from the comfort of one’s own home, and at the pace which suits them best. For groups of people interested in Excel classes, they can also send an instructor to teach classes of five or more students. The instructor will teach in the privacy of the office, and the classes can be customized depending on what they need.

Microsoft Excel is one of the most versatile and widely used office programs. Every office has some version of the program on their computers. Excel spreadsheets track data and assemble that data into tables and graphs for reports. Often, even if workers use the program, they are unfamiliar with the shortcuts and abilities that could increase their productivity in the office. They know it can be used to compile data into a list, but they don't know how to use more advanced functions to analyze and sort that list.

Excel training and classes in Austin, TX will provide different levels of training, which depends on the needs of the individual or business. The classes are led by instructors, not student propelled e-learning. In some cases, e-learning can be very beneficial, but Excel can be difficult for students working on their own. Instructors will lay out a foundation of basic skills that students can build upon to further advance their Excel knowledge.

The Basics
In a basic class, instructors teach the terminology used in Excel. They will explain how to navigate the Excel toolbar. After a basic getting started unit, the instructors teach students in Austin, TX Excel classes how to enter data and edit formulas. Formulas are what make an Excel spreadsheet function effectively.

Intermediate Classes
Building on the basic knowledge learned in the previous class, the student will learn how to use multiple worksheets together along with linking workbooks. There are special functions, themes and styles for the intermediate student to learn. Students will learn how to consolidate data, name ranges of data as well as sort and filter lists.

Advanced Knowledge
For anyone who thinks they have advanced Excel knowledge, this class will test that conviction. Teachers will talk about logical and statistical functions as well as data tables. Students will learn how to record and run a macro. Teachers will show students how to use the analytical tools and advanced data management functions.

Austin, TX Excel Training will provide individuals with advanced skills to further their value as an employee. Employers can provide training for the employees that will make staff more efficient and improve business practices. Employees will be able to analyze more complicated data, which will save the company time and money. It's an investment in employees that will realize huge returns in employee productivity.
