Q: How Can I Get AutoCAD Certification, and What's the Best Way to Learn the Program?

A: When working toward AutoCAD certification, you'll have your choice of two credentials: the basic AutoCAD Certified User and the advanced AutoCAD Certified Professional. Both certification levels require that you pass exams and prove proficiency with the software. Though rigid prerequisites aren't needed to enroll for certification exams, hands-on and real-world experience with AutoCAD can be required to pass the exam. For some, the best way to learn AutoCAD can be through instructional courses, which can help students pass the certification exam the first time that they take it.

The areas covered were general. Understandably everyone uses autocad for different fields. Some of the useful information for what I use it for were not covered very deeply. Some chapters were of no use at all. I will use the book to review these chapters. Mr. Buzzard is a great teacher who creates a comfortable and easy going class atmosphere. Always asks if anyone has questions and is willing to explain things further with detail if time permits.

Robert Buzzard was a very knowledgeable and patient instructor. I was surprised with his punctuality yet his attention to each students questions was remarkable. I have been resistant to online courses for a long time and this was my first attempt. Instructor "Buzz" made this one of the best instruction experiences I have ever had. I look forward to taking additional classes with Mr. Buzzard.

Over all a great experience. Excellent working environment. Personally I would have rather been in a physical classroom.

might need to be a 4 day course to get enough practice drills for those inexperienced with AutoCAD or CAD from their work place

may want to split the course between a refresher for those who already work in the software and beginner

Just a little more time to practice would have helped me have more questions to ask.

It would be great if you could recommend the next course I should take in this series. I would like to learn more about AutoCAD, layering, converting 2D to 3D, and striate up 3D modeling. thank you, and have a great day.

Instructor was nice and super helpful throughout entire course! Really liked how the instructor would try and relate the topics we were learning to the fields that each student works in. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to learn the basics of AutoCAD

Instructor was informed on all topics and even answered out of the box questions to certain working environments. I would be interested in taking Civil3D or Architectural3D from this instructor.

I was fortunate to attend the course with one other student. Our instructor, Paul Burgener, worked with both of our strengths and weaknesses and made this class work. He is a great resource for both you and the student offering his assistance any time even when the class is complete. Paul was always early to open up the class dialog and was willing to stay late which he did with me. I could not be more than pleased.

I really liked that I could see my professor's screen and I could speak to the instructor as well as the rest of the class and see who was speaking. I liked that I could click on a link and virtually use the software without having to download it onto my computer. I also found it helpful that the instructor could view my screen and coach me through any issues I was having

I just completed the AutoCAD essentials class with Robert "Buzz" Buzzard. I have taken other online classes before and this was far more interactive than those and much more enjoyable. Buzz was extremely knowledgeable, and very good at giving examples to help explain different tasks/commands within the program. I would gladly take another course with him.

I honestly can't think of any improvements because I was so new at this software everything was new to me as well, but the instructor helped me understand it very well.

I enjoyed the instructor. I feel like a 1-on-1 course or in person with a small group would be much more effective but that the is given drawback of an online course.

Course felt like it was moving really slow. I was able to follow along in the book and complete most of the activities well before the everyone else and as a result I sat around for hours waiting for the instructor to catch up to where I was.

Buz was incredibile and has amazing knowledge regarding Auto Cad....I will definitely be reaching out to him when I get stuck. I know one person in the class had never used Auto Cad previously. I think the class would have been extremely difficult for him as I feel the class was not for beginners. I have used Auto Cad previously but not on a regular basis and my program went from a 2 11 Lt. version to a 2 19 program. I attained clarity on some things and others hopefully by just using it things will become clearer. As Buzz said, if we don't use it for a period of time in the beginning we will not retain the information. The book seems to have a lot of very detailed information. I am going to jump into the program this week and see where I am since I will be working in my works drawings.
